Grade, varieties, and what’s actually in the box

Borrego lists Medjool and pitted Medjool — one variety, no stated size grade. Our fruit is jumbo-graded — every date crosses a hand at the grading table, and the small and dry fruit never ships — across three varieties: jumbo Medjool, golden Zahidi baking dates, and seasonal fresh Barhi. We also ship whole, pit-in, on purpose: pitted fruit dries from the cut; whole fruit arrives soft.

Honest numbers: Borrego’s headline box runs about $9/lb with free shipping — but only to California and Arizona. Our ladder runs $19 for 1 lb down to about $9.83/lb on the 12 lb box, shipping included to all lower-48 states.
