Desert Sun Dates is a family date farm at 23925 Longvue Rd, Sky Valley, CA 92241. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect when you visit desertsundates.com or buy from us, what we do with it, and who else handles it. What we collect
When you place an order: your name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number (optional), what you ordered, and any notes you add. We need this to pack, ship and support your order.
When you start checkout but don’t finish: the details you typed at checkout, such as your email and cart contents, may be saved so we can send a reminder about the items you left behind. Each reminder email has an unsubscribe link.
When you contact us: whatever you send through our contact form or by email.
When you browse: standard technical information such as pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location from your IP address, and how you arrived at the site. This is collected with cookies and similar tools (see below).
What we do not collect: your card number. Card and PayPal/Venmo payments are processed by PayPal, and your full card details never touch our servers.
How we use it
- To process, pack and ship your order, and to send order confirmations and shipping updates.
- To answer your questions and handle returns or refunds.
- To send a review request after your order is completed, and cart reminders if you left checkout unfinished.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
- To keep the site secure and prevent spam and fraud.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who else handles your information
We use a small number of service providers to run the store. Each receives only what it needs:
- PayPal processes card, PayPal, Venmo and Pay Later payments, under PayPal’s privacy statement.
- USPS and our label service receive your name and shipping address to deliver your order.
- Google provides site analytics (Google Analytics via Site Kit), product listings and store ratings (Google Merchant Center, including optional post-purchase surveys through Google Customer Reviews), spam protection (reCAPTCHA), and email delivery for our store messages.
- Microsoft (Bing) receives notices of new and updated pages on our site, and may show our products in its shopping results.
- Cloudflare delivers and protects the website, so your visits pass through its network.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Cookies
The site uses cookies to keep your cart working, remember checkout details, and measure site traffic. Our payment, analytics and security providers may set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout may not work without them.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for tax, accounting and customer support. Unfinished-checkout details are kept for a limited time for reminders. You can ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from reminder or marketing emails using the link in any email.
- Ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing [email protected].
- If you have a customer account, you can update your details under My account.
Children
Our store is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
