A box of fresh California dates is a Christmas gift people actually eat. It’s real food from a real farm, it keeps well past the holiday, and it suits almost everyone on your list: neighbors, teachers, in-laws, coworkers, clients. Ours are jumbo Medjool from our family farm in Sky Valley, packed with your note on top and shipped free to the lower 48. For Christmas delivery, order by Monday, December 14.

Who to send dates to
- Neighbors, teachers and the mail carrier: a 1 lb box ($19) is a small, genuine thank-you.
- Hosts and friends: the 2 lb gift box ($29) is the most-sent size.
- Family: the 4 lb box ($49) or 6 lb box ($67) for people who share.
- Someone who bakes: the Baker’s Bundle (4 lb Medjool and 2 lb Zahidi, $73).
- Clients and staff: one invoice, a note on each box: corporate and client gifts.
Why dates beat another fruit basket
- They keep. Up to 3 months in a cool pantry, up to a year in the fridge, longer frozen. See the storage guide. A fruit basket doesn’t last the week.
- One ingredient. Whole fruit, nothing added, naturally vegan and gluten-free.
- It has a story. Grown, hand-picked and packed by a family farm in the Coachella Valley. Read how we harvest.
- The note travels with it. We write your message on a card and place it on top of the dates, with no prices in the box.
Dates for holiday cooking and entertaining
- Sticky toffee pudding, the holiday dessert that is really a date recipe.
- Stuffed dates, three ways and bacon-wrapped dates for the party plate.
- Dates on a charcuterie board.
- Date-sweetened pumpkin pie, if you’re still baking.
- More on the date recipe collection.
Christmas timing
| Arrive before | Order by |
|---|---|
| Christmas | Monday, Dec 14 |
| New Year’s | Thursday, Dec 17 |
We pack and ship within 3 business days, and most boxes arrive 2 to 5 business days after. December mail is slower, so order early if you can. The full list, including Thanksgiving and Hanukkah, is on the date gift boxes page. For ideas on gifts to hosts, see hostess gifts.
Christmas questions
Can I send gifts to several addresses?
Yes. For a handful, order each one online with its own note. For ten or more, call the farm at (760) 501-1845 and we’ll run it as one batch.
Do you sell gift baskets?
We sell gift boxes, not baskets: sealed containers of fresh Medjool packed in a sized box with your note on top. No ribbon or filler, so the whole box is fruit.
Will there be a price in the box?
No. Gift orders ship with the fruit and your note only.
Where do you ship?
To all 50 states, with shipping included to the lower 48. See where we ship and our FAQ.
