A hostess gift that gets used
A bottle of wine gets opened or regifted. A box of dates gets put out with cheese and coffee that same night, then lasts for weeks. The 2 lb box is the one most people send a host. It’s a real amount of fruit, not a token, and it comes in sealed farm containers, so it travels and stores well. - Thanksgiving host: order by Friday, Nov 13.
- Holiday party host: order by Monday, Dec 14 for Christmas, or Thursday, Dec 17 for New Year’s.
- Any dinner party: ship it ahead to the host, or to yourself to hand over in person.

Wedding favors, shower gifts and party favors
For a wedding, a shower or a large party, dates work as a sit-down favor, a welcome bag item or a thank-you for the wedding party. You buy 1 lb and 2 lb containers and portion them into your own favor bags or boxes. We don’t sell individually wrapped favor packs, so to keep it simple and honest: you get a sealed container of fresh fruit, and you do the wrapping that suits your event.
- Wedding party and family gifts: a 2 lb box each, shipped to each address with a note.
- Welcome bags for out-of-town guests: divide a 12 lb box ($118) into small bags. That works out to roughly 264 to 336 dates, so you can fill dozens of bags.
- Showers and open houses: a 4 lb box ($49) fills a few trays.

Why dates work as a gift
- They keep. Up to 3 months in a cool pantry, up to a year in the fridge, and longer frozen. See our storage guide.
- One ingredient. Whole, unpitted fruit with nothing added or coated, so it works for most diets. We aren’t kosher certified, and our dates aren’t organic. See our FAQ for the details.
- It comes from a farm. You can tell the recipient where the dates were grown and who packed them. Read how we harvest by hand.
- A milder option. Not everyone likes very sweet fruit. Golden Zahidi is firmer and milder, and the Baker’s Bundle is a good gift for someone who bakes.
How to send it
- Choose a gift box size and add it to your cart.
- At checkout, enter the recipient’s name and address as the shipping address.
- Type your message in the order notes. We write it on a card and place it on top of the fruit.

Can you include a note?
Yes. It goes on a card on top of the dates, and nothing with prices goes in the box.
How soon do I need to order?

Do you wrap individual favors?
No. We ship sealed 1 lb and 2 lb containers and gift boxes. If you need individually packaged favors, you would portion them yourself.
