Medjool Dates in Monsey & Rockland County — Farm-Direct From California

Rockland County is home to one of the largest Orthodox communities in America — Monsey, Spring Valley, Airmont, New Square — and dates are not an exotic fruit there. They’re one of the shivat haminim, the Seven Species of Eretz Yisroel, on the table at Rosh Hashanah as a siman, at the Tu B’Shvat seder, and in honey-date recipes the rest of the year.

What’s hard to find is dates that haven’t spent months in a distributor’s warehouse. We’re a family date farm in California’s Coachella Valley — jumbo Medjool, golden Zahidi and seasonal Barhi, grown, packed and shipped by us. Transit to Rockland County runs 3–4 days, and the fruit ships from a cold room, not a shelf.

Tu B’Shvat is the next date on the calendar

Tu B’Shvat falls in late January 2027, and dates belong at the seder twice over — as one of the Seven Species and as the fruit of the tzaddik: “tzaddik katamar yifrach”, the righteous flourish like the date palm. A box of jumbo Medjool picked this season reads differently at that table than warehouse fruit from who-knows-when. Order the first half of January and transit is comfortable.

On kashrus, honestly

Our dates are whole, raw fruit — one ingredient, nothing added, nothing coated, packed on the farm. We’re a small family farm and we do not carry a hechsher. Whether whole raw fruit needs one is a question for your rav, not for us; we’ll answer any question about how the fruit is grown, handled and packed, plainly and directly.
