Fresh Barhi dates last about three weeks a year, late August into September. Leave your email and you get first call when next harvest drops — before we announce it anywhere else.

Barhi dates, grown on our family farm in the Coachella Valley of Southern California. Soft, creamy and honey-sweet, Barhi is the most delicate variety we grow and the one date people remember after trying it.

Why Barhi is different
- Honey-like sweetness: soft, almost custard-like interior, unlike any other variety.
- Two ways to eat it: soft and amber when fully ripe, or fresh and yellow at the khalal stage, when it is crisp and lightly astringent — a genuinely different fruit.
- Rare: a short harvest window and delicate handling mean very few farms sell Barhi as whole fruit.
- Grown without pesticides: naturally ripened in the desert sun. Not certified organic.
- Whole and unpitted: nothing added, nothing coated.
How to eat them
Barhis are best fresh and on their own — the texture is the point. They make an exceptional gift for anyone who thinks they already know what a date tastes like, and they are a favourite for natural energy before or after exercise.
Shipping
Orders leave our Sky Valley, California farm within 3 business days. We pack and ship every order ourselves. Shipping terms for the new Barhi crop will be confirmed when it is listed.
Storage
Barhi dates are best enjoyed fresh. Refrigerate on arrival — they keep well chilled for up to 6 months, or frozen for up to a year.

Are these dates pitted?
No. These are whole Barhi dates with the pits intact, which preserves their delicate texture.
When will Barhis be back in stock?

Are they organic?
They are grown without pesticides, but they are not USDA certified organic and we do not describe them as organic.
